The Political Involvement Reception during the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo will feature the fresh approach to election insights brought by Eli Yokley, U.S. politics analyst for decision intelligence company Morning Consult.
The Political Involvement Reception will be held Aug. 17, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm EST, as part of the NACDS Total Store Expo that begins on that day and runs through Aug.19 in Boston.
“Eli Yokley has been considered a ‘journalism prodigy’ since high school and Morning Consult is an extremely innovative company whose services help NACDS to advocate with a cutting-edge approach,” said Steve Anderson, president and CEO of NACDS. “We could not imagine a more fitting individual to help us see around the corners of what already is an unprecedented Presidential election—not to mention Congressional and state elections—and what it all means for NACDS’ advocacy on issues of critical importance to all Americans and their communities.”

Anderson continued, “At the NACDS Total Store Expo, we are going to present a Political Involvement Reception with the exciting look and feel of a bipartisan political convention rallying for all Americans and their pharmacies. We want to celebrate one constant—which is that NACDS members engage in grassroots advocacy, in politics, and in fueling the best conferences in the nation. While the issues facing the industry are mammoth, NACDS is ‘in the zone’— advocating with passion and with the membership’s collective voice. NACDS is creating change and that is what this reception will be all about.”
Yokley is Morning Consult’s U.S. politics analyst. He joined Morning Consult in 2016 from Roll Call, where he reported on House and Senate campaigns after five years of covering state-level politics in the Show Me State while studying at the University of Missouri in Columbia, including contributions to The New York Times, Politico and The Daily Beast.
Columbia Journalism Review in 2015 profiled Yokley’s ascent in the world of covering elections—and was among those who labeled him a “journalism prodigy.” His reputation is rooted in his passion for his craft, his entrepreneurial spirit from an early age, his respect from his peers and his creative approaches that identify societal trends.
The NACDS Political Involvement Reception is open to NACDS Political Action Committee contributors and invited guests. The bipartisan NACDS-PAC supports Congressional candidates who understand and help to advance pro-pharmacy and pro-patient policies.
