ACRO to host specialty pharmacy payer symposium

PHILADELPHIA Healthcare reform will affect just about every aspect of the healthcare industry in the United States, and managed care for patients who require expensive and complex drug regimens is no exception.

ACRO Pharmaceutical Services and Armada Health Care will sponsor the third annual Regional Payer/Managed Care Symposium on Dec. 11 at the Hyatt Regency in Philadelphia’s Penn’s Landing area, with a panel of speakers featuring SXC Health Solutions Corp. president and CEO Mark Thierer and senior pharmacy executives from Amerigroup, PerformRx and others.

Discussion will include challenges and strategies for managing use of high-cost specialty medications, the latest trends in specialty pharmacy and how healthcare reform will affect managed care organizations.
