Albertsons names new EVP and chief information officer

BOISE, Idaho — AB Acquisition on Wednesday named Anuj Dhanda to the position of EVP and chief information officer. Dhanda has most recently served as chief information officer and SVP digital commerce for Giant Eagle.

 

“Anuj is an innovative, results-oriented leader who fits our culture and brings extensive background in merger integration, digital marketing and commerce, systems modernization, and data security,” Justin Dye, chief administrative officer of Albertsons Companies, said. “Our team looks forward to working with Anuj to further our strategic vision for the Company and our information technology capabilities.”

 

Dhanda graduated from the University of Delhi with a degree in commerce and received his MBA and Ph.D. in finance from Rutgers University. He began his career as a consultant with KPMG in Bahrain in 1984, and then worked at JP Morgan Chase before joining PNC Financial Services Group where he rose to the position of EVP and chief information officer.  He joined Giant Eagle as CIO in 2013.

 

Dhanda will start Dec. 7.
