SEATTLE — Washington pharmacy chain Bartell Drugs announced Tuesday that it had kicked off its 12th annual collaboration with the Salvation Army — its “Toy ‘N’ Joy” toy drive, which will run through Dec. 13. Sixty-one Bartell Drugs locations will accept toy donations that will be distributed by the Salvation Army the week before Christmas.
There are two ways to donate to the drive — customers can either choose a gift request tag from an in-store “Toy ‘N’ Joy” display and return the toy with the tag attached to the store’s donation barrel or they can donate new, unwrapped toys for children up to 14 years old. Last year’s drive brought in more than 4,500 toy donations.
“This community-wide drive helps make the holiday season brighter for deserving children in the neighborhoods we serve,” Bartell Drugs president and CEO Brian Unmacht said. “The generous response by our customers over the past eleven years has been gratifying.”
