8/27/2009

SEATTLE The country’s oldest retail pharmacy chain plans to open another new store.

Bartell Drugs, founded in Seattle 119 years ago, announced Thursday that it would open a 16,395 sq.-ft. store in Issaquah, Wash., on Sept. 28. The Issaquah store, the 57th in the chain, will follow the opening of stores in Lynnwood, Wash., and Mill Creek, Wash., over the last two months.

“We have been working towards opening a location in Issaquah for a number of years,” CEO George Bartell said in a statement. “We’re very excited about this new location and look forward to serving the needs of the community.”

The new store will include a full range of front-end products, as well as a drive-through pharmacy and Bartell’s trademarked PixPlus photo department.
