Brookshire's heralds new Super 1 Foods with grand opening event
WINNSBORO, Texas — On May 1, Brookshire's Grocery Co. held a grand opening ceremony for a new Super 1 Foods located at 9 Fair Ave. here with a ribbon-cutting event. The company converted the store, which it purchased last year, from the Kaye's Fod Market format.
On hand for the ribbon-cutting was Chamber of Commerce president Dustin Wright and Brookshire Grocery Co. president and CEO Rick Rayford. Super 1 Foods Store Director Josh Black presented donation checks totaling $1,000 each to Franklin Parish High School and Dixie Youth Baseball.
The 48,238-sq-ft store opened in November, replacing the former Kaye’s Food Market that was purchased by Brookshire Grocery Co. The store now boasts a completely new look through several upgrades, including new exterior signage and paint, new interior paint and modern décor, new carousel check stands and updated bakery and deli departments with new equipment.
In addition to fresh bakery and deli services, the store offers a full-service meat department with fresh cuts prepared daily. Embracing the community’s cultural flair for Cajun and Creole cuisine, the store offers specialty meat items like Cajun-stuffed pork chops and chicken, in addition to products that are either locally grown or a “Certified Cajun” Louisiana agricultural product.
The store offers low prices throughout with its Super Shockers program, where select nonadvertised items are heavily discounted, and through its Wall of Values — an area located near the store’s entrance that features affordable, quality products. The products located in the Wall of Values are displayed on pallets to save on labor, which provides lower operating costs that are passed on to customers through exceptional savings.
“We are pleased to offer exceptional value and great service to our new customers in Winnsboro,” Rayford said. “We look forward to building strong ties with the Winnsboro community, and appreciate all the support we have received so far.”
The grand opening festivities will continue throughout the following weeks with special giveaways and promotions. More special offers will be announced in the weekly grocery ads.
