WASHINGTON - The Community Anti-Drug Coalition and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association last week honored the Shelby County Drug Free Coalition of Shelbyville, Ind. with the 2016 Dose of Prevention Award at the 26th annual National Leadership Forum, the nation’s largest training conference for substance abuse prevention and treatment professionals and researcher held here.

The award was presented Feb. 4 during the National Leadership Awards Lunch.

Each year, CHPA and CADCA present the Dose of Prevention award to recognize CADCA-member coalitions that have helped raise awareness about the dangers of teen abuse of over-the-counter cough medicine. This year’s award was accepted by Lori Springer, executive director, Shelby County Drug Free Coalition.
