LINTHICUM, Md. - CARE Pharmacies announced on Monday that it has promoted Mark Ey to VP pharmacy operations. With the promotion, Ey will lead all chain level operational functions of the growing cooperative drug chain.
“We are very excited to have Mark take on an increased level of responsibility within the drug chain,” stated Michael Wysong, CEO CARE. “Mark’s direct impact on our ability to serve our customers better along with his unique set of experiences in retail pharmacy make this an easy decision and transition for CARE.”
Ey will oversee the operational needs of CARE, which represents some 80 independently owned and operated pharmacies in 14 states; including traditional retail, specialty, hospital outpatient and FQHC clinics. In that capacity Ey will develop and maintain CARE’s vendor agreements and pharmacy quality initiatives including PQA and EQuIPP.
Ey joined CARE in 2012 as director operations and support services. Before that he was an area manager for NeighborCare. Eye started as a pharmacist for Freedom Pharmacy in 1986.
Ey is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and currently serves on several pharmacy association committees and boards.
