CDC, now Pharmacy Value Alliance, selects Emerson Group to manage PL

PARK CITY, Utah – Chain Drug Consortium on Monday executed an agreement with The Emerson Group to manage the Premier Value line of private label products.


 


Also, CDC has changed its name to Pharmacy Value Alliance to better reflect its members focus on community pharmacy. The Premier Value Product line will continue under the Premier Value name.


 


Lou Helfrich, VP purchasing, will retire after a successful term managing the Premier Value product line. “We wish Lou the very best, congratulate him on his retirement, and we look forward to a productive business relationship with The Emerson Group," said Steve Rule, president of the Pharmacy Value Alliance.


 


“We look forward to expanding our already robust business relationship with the Pharmacy Value Alliance members," added Scott Emerson, CEO and chairman Emerson Group. "We are please to have been selected to undertake the management of the Premier Value product line.”


 


Emerson Group’s Paul Margeson has been appointed to lead the private brands and supplier sourcing for the Emerson Group and will serve on the newly created Operations Board of the Pharmacy Value Alliance. Margeson brings over 25 years of category management experience including Rite Aid where he was responsible for the OTC healthcare categories. 


 


Richard Cognetti, Jr., VP marketing and retail merchandising for Kinney Drugs, has been selected to be the chairman of the Operations Board of the Pharmacy Value Alliance.
