Cheryl Slavinsky named public relations director for Rite Aid

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid on Monday named Cheryl Slavinsky, a public relations industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, the chain’s director of public relations.

Slavinsky, 53, held management positions for 12 years in several Harrisburg area public relations and advertising agencies, most recently serving as senior account manager/director of public relations with PPO&S, an integrated marketing communications firm. Slavinsky will report to Karen Rugen, senior vice president, corporate communications.

”Cheryl’s broad-based experience in media relations, marketing communications, issues management and public relations strategy will be a valuable asset to our company,” Rugen stated. “Her national consumer public relations experience will be particularly beneficial as she develops and implements public relations campaigns to promote our products, services and health and wellness programs.

Slavinsky started her public relations career with The Patriot-News in Harrisburg; managed public relations for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and employee communications for Capital Health System in Harrisburg (now PinnacleHealth); served as vice president of public relations and advertising for L’EQUIP, a manufacturer of small kitchen electrics; and has operated her own communications consulting business.
