WASHINGTON -- The Consumer Healthcare Products Association has named a new vice president in charge of business development and industry relations who has vast business development experience.
CHPA announced that Britt Wood has been named to the post, and he will start in May. CHPA said Wood will be responsible for the maintenance and growth of CHPA’s membership base and its partnership program, and will oversee development of content for the association’s educational programming. In addition, Wood will be responsible for programs and committees related to business generation and supply chain coordination and will serve as the association’s primary liaison to the retailer community. Wood will also serve as a member of the association’s senior management team. Wood will report to CHPA President and CEO Scott Melville.
”We are delighted to welcome Britt to the CHPA leadership team. He brings an extensive record of accomplishment in association development and membership, and he has a deep knowledge of supply chain issues and the retail community. This unique combination of experience will enable him to immediately assume leadership of CHPA’s business development and business building efforts on behalf of its membership,” said Melville.
Wood comes to CHPA with more than fifteen years’ experience in trade and professional association management. Most recently, Wood served as vice president, industry programs and services for the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA), where he led the department responsible for all revenue drivers and initiatives and oversaw the formation of an executive education program with the University of Virginia.
Earlier in his career, Wood spent more than a decade with increasing responsibility with the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), where he rose to the position of SVP, Industry Relations. Wood earned his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and his master’s degree in business administration from the College of William & Mary.
