Costco sees rise in April sales

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco reported net sales of $8.75 billion for the month of April, an increase of 2% from $8.56 billion during the similar period last year.



This year's sales reflect one additional sales day than last year, because of the timing of the Easter holiday. This calendar shift positively impacted this year's net and comparable sales by an estimated 1.5% to 2%.



U.S. same-store sales increase 2%, while total company same-store sales were flat for the month of April.
