CRN announces two keynotes who will discuss VMS role in new healthcare paradigm for upcoming meeting

9/12/2014

WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition on Thursday announced two keynote speakers who will explore the transformation of today's healthcare paradigm and how that impacts the dietary supplement industry during the Nov. 6 afternoon session at CRN’s Annual Symposium for the Dietary Supplement Industry in Dana Point, Calif.

“Changes in health care and shifts in consumer attitudes about wellness are top-of-mind these days and are relevant to how dietary supplement and functional food companies can better serve consumers,” stated Steve Mister, president and CEO, CRN. “These keynotes ... will provide two distinct perspectives on aspects of the current health care landscape, challenging conference attendees to envision how they can manufacture and market products that contribute in new ways to consumer wellness.”

J.D. Kleinke, a 2012 resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, will dissect the potential versus the realities of the Affordable Care Act and examine if the law is really changing how health care is delivered — or just how it is paid for.

And Daniel Kraft, founding executive director, Exponential Medicine, and faculty chair for Medicine, Singularity University, will examine rapidly emerging, game changing and convergent technology trends and emergent fields such as low cost personal genomics, the digitization of health records, crowd sourced data, molecular imaging, wearable devices and mobile health, synthetic biology, systems medicine and robotics.
