CRN's Steve Mister named top CEO by association trade publication
WASHINGTON — Steve Mister, president and CEO for the Council for Responsible Nutrition, last week was named one of the year’s top CEOs by CEO Update, the publication that covers executive careers in associations, nonprofits and professional societies.
According to CEO Update, candidates were evaluated on a wide-ranging list of criteria, including: strong legislative and advocacy efforts, leadership ability, success in making the association a great place to work, and raising the organization’s public profile. The annual top CEO list, now in its fourth year, honors association executives whose leadership attributes have identified them as standouts in the profession. In recognizing Mister, the publication called him an “authoritative industry spokesperson” who is adept at forging consensus among competitive organizations while establishing CRN as a credible voice on industry matters.
“I am honored that our association was recognized,” Mister said, who credited the association’s accomplishments to CRN’s science staff, proactive media efforts and collaborative leadership on Capitol Hill. “I’m fortunate to work with an invested board of directors who works with us to set the strategic direction, then trusts our judgment to make things happen.”
