3/3/2008

WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS has expanded its presence in Montana with the acquisition of four Snyders Western Drug Store locations, both companies confirmed on Monday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The four stores—three in Billings and one in Laurel—will be remodeled and rebranded as CVS stores in early April. The acquisition brings CVS’ store count to 12 in the state. The Snyders Western Drug Store in Helena is not part of the deal and will continue to be operated by Snyders.

“We are pleased to expand our presence in the Billings market and are committed to offering the community all of the convenient pharmacy services that our customers trust and depend on us to provide,” stated Howard Shansky, area vice president-Montana for CVS. “Snyders Western Drug Store employees do a great job of taking care of their customers and we look forward to helping them continue to do that as part of CVS/pharmacy.”

Based in Minnetonka, Minn., Snyders Drug Stores is a regional chain operating nearly 100 corporate and independently owned pharmacies and drug stores in the upper Midwest.
