CVS Caremark appoints new VP, diversity officer

WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS Caremark has appointed David Casey VP and diversity officer. In this new role, Casey will lead the company's efforts related to strategic diversity management.

"To that end, we're delighted that David Casey has joined CVS Caremark to develop and drive best practice diversity strategies designed to help the company ensure that we have a workforce reflective of the communities we serve and a culture of inclusion that enables us to meet and exceed the needs of our increasingly diverse customers."

Casey most recently served as chief diversity officer at WellPoint and as regional director of business development for Bernard Hodes Group.

Casey serves on advisory boards for the American Institute for Managing Diversity and Profiles in Diversity Journal, where he is also a contributing columnist. He was inducted into the National Eagle Leadership Institute in 2006 and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management. He is active in the community and with several nonprofit organizations, including the Urban League and United Way. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Casey served in Operation Desert Storm.
