CVS Caremark's MinuteClinic closes 90 locations for season

MINNEAPOLIS CVS Caremark has closed about 90 MinuteClinic locations for the season, a company spokesperson confirmed.

The company has stated that it is making the move to better align with consumer demand as the convenient care industry enters a slow season in the spring.

MinuteClinic, the largest operator of retail-based clinics in the United States, now has about 460 clinics in operation, excluding those now closed for the season.

Earlier this month, about 90 clinics started operating on a season schedule, while the company has extended weekend hours in certain other locations. The company, which has not exited any market, is expected to reopen the stores for the next flu season or other seasonal needs.
