CVS/pharmacy to help shoppers save money, time this holiday season
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — This holiday season, CVS/pharmacy is striving to make it easier than ever for customers to save on Christmas gifts and holiday necessities by enabling CVS/pharmacy's ExtraCare Rewards members to take advantage of special incentives, such as free gift cards for purchasing select items and earning back "free CVS money" called ExtraBucks Rewards on a variety of essentials.
"Black Friday is the official kick-off to the holiday season and CVS/pharmacy is offering incredible deals during our three day sale this year," CVS/pharmacy SVP merchandising and pricing Judy Sansone said. "We're also offering CVS/pharmacy shoppers additional ways to save throughout the holiday season with new offers and promotions each week in our circular, through 'Christmas Central' on CVS.com and on Facebook and Twitter."
This season, members of CVS/pharmacy's ExtraCare Rewards program can earn $10 gift cards to Macy's, Gap, Applebee's, Shell Stations, American Express, Barnes & Noble or CVS/pharmacy every week by spending $30 on specially-marked items found in the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular. Products included in the promotion change each week.
As part of CVS/pharmacy's three-day Black Friday sale (Nov. 24 to 26), shoppers will automatically earn a $10 gift card when they purchase any of the following hot gift items:
iTower stereo system: $68.88 with ExtraCare card;
7" portable LCD TV with DVD player: $78.88 with ExtraCare card;
60" Santa with decorated tree: $68.88 with ExtraCare card; and
Wireless touch screen tablet - $94.88 with ExtraCare card.
Purchasing $30 worth of toys, games and "As Seen on TV" gift items also will yield a free $10 gift card, including such items as Pee Wee Pillow Pets, Eggies, Swivel Store, Easy Feet and the Slice-O-Matic, which range from $9.99 to $19.99.
In addition, CVS/pharmacy is offering special discounts on holiday gifts and decorations, as well as everyday needs on CVS.com. On Cyber Monday (Nov. 28), shoppers can visit CVS.com/CyberMonday to shop for gifts and receive $15 off purchases of $60 or more. Standard shipping is free on all orders of $50 or more all season long.
This year CVS/pharmacy has introduced a "Holiday Shopping Quiz" at Facebook.com/CVS. Facebook community members can take a quiz to determine which type of holiday shopper they are and earn a 20% off shopping pass to use exclusively at CVS/pharmacy. The CVS/pharmacy Facebook page also will showcase sneak peeks of hot discounts each week, gift ideas, and a printable shopping list feature to help customers plan ahead.
