CVS/pharmacy receives safety awards
WOONSOCKET, R.I. CVS/pharmacy's transportation operations has received two national safety awards from the American Trucking Association and the National Private Truck Council.
"We are very proud to receive this recognition from the ATA and the NPTC, two well-respected trade associations in our industry," stated Ron Link, SVP logistics for CVS/pharmacy. "Ralph Haynes is well-deserving of his All-Star award. He embodies our mission to support our stores' fulfillment needs with a high level of customer service while ensuring the safety of our fleet and our transportation associates."
The NPTC selected Haynes, a driver based in the retailer's Knoxville, Tenn., distribution center as one of its 2009 National Driver All-Stars. The drivers were selected based on their meeting high performance standards in the fields of customer service, safety and compliance. Haynes was one of 12 private fleet truck drivers to be selected this year.
In addition, the company received the ATA's 2009 President's Trophy in the "Under 25 Million Miles" category. This is the highest safety award available to motor carriers in the United States and is presented annually to only three carriers, one in each of three categories: Under 25 Million Miles, 25-100 Million Miles and Over 100 Million Miles. CVS/pharmacy's transportation operations were judged the most outstanding for Under 25 Million Miles on the basis of its safety record, programs and community outreach activities.
