Daily Diversion: ALS Ice Bucket Challenge returns

Following the success of last summer’s viral Ice Bucket Challenge campaign to raise awareness and money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research, the challenge will return, beginning Friday. The ALS Association hopes to revive the contest every August, until there is a cure, according to its website.

The 2014 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raised over $115 million and featured famous participants, including Benedict Cumberbatch,  Lady Gaga (who managed to keep a straight face the whole time), Oprah, Chris Pratt, Martha Stewart and Mark Zuckerberg.
