Duane Reade partners with MoneyGram International to wire funds to Haiti relief
NEW YORK Duane Reade has partnered with MoneyGram International to enable Duane Reade customers to wire funds to Haiti free of charge.
“We offer our condolences to all New Yorkers whose friends or family members have been affected by this devastating event,” stated John Lederer, chairman and CEO of Duane Reade and board member of the Duane Reade Charitable Foundation. “We hope that through our partnership with MoneyGram we can offer some small relief to those in need of assistance and make it a little bit easier for New Yorkers to extend their financial support directly to recipients in the country.”
In addition to its partnership with MoneyGram, the Duane Reade Charitable Foundation is supporting the American Red Cross International Relief Fund through a direct cash donation in the amount of $10,000 and through a company-wide employee match program up to a maximum of an additional $10,000 donation.
The free direct wire transfer program runs through Jan. 24, with the possibility of extending the program thereafter. Duane Reade currentlyoffers MoneyGram services at approximately 180 of its more than 250 locations in the metropolitan New York region.

As previously announced by MoneyGram, anyone who wishes to support recovery in Haiti by donation to the American Red Cross can also do so free of charge from any MoneyGram Express Payment agent location. Use the Red Cross code 3886 to send a donation.
