FDA approves generic Aricept from ANI, Dexcel

SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved ANI Pharmaceuticals’ and Dexcel Pharma Technologies’ generic Aricept (donepezil HCl), the companies announced Wednesday. 

 

The drug, which comes in 23-mg dosage strength, is indicated to treat dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease. It saw calendar year 2015 sales of $44 million, according to IMS Health.
