Fera launches Neptazane

7/6/2010

NEW YORK Fera Pharmaceuticals has launched an oral preventive treatment for glaucoma, Fera said Friday.

The New York-based drug maker launched Neptazane (methazolamide) tablets in the 25 mg and 50 mg strengths. The drug is used to relieve pressure inside the eye in patients, also known as intraocular pressure, a condition that can lead to glaucoma if left untreated.

“Neptazane represents an alternative to eye drops when IOP is not effectively controlled or patient compliance becomes an issue,” Fera VP ophthalmics David Cobb said. “And Neptazane is a brand name the eye-care community knows and trusts.”
