Former P&G executive moves to Carrefour
PARIS Former Procter & Gamble executive Jose Carlos Gonzalez-Hurtado has joined Carrefour to serve as chief commercial officer for the French retailer.
The new position is effective as of Dec. 1 and, according to the retailer, reflects its determination to strengthen its customer focus, enrich the brand and better disseminate innovations and best practices throughout the group.
The group marketing department and two commercial competence centres will report to him.
Gonzalez-Hurtado joined P&G in 1989. After a six-year stint as brand manager within the health and beauty care division in Spain, he held various positions in marketing in Greece and Spain. In 1999, he joined P&G in Switzerland as fabric care marketing director for Western Europe, before being appointed hair care marketing director for the CEEMEA region. In 2001, he became GM for the newly established subsidiary in Israel. In 2004, he was named GM for P&G, Wella, Gala and Gillette in Ukraine. In 2006, he was appointed VP of global Braun male products, and in 2008, he was put in charge of Braun globally.
