POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Fruth Pharmacy got in the holiday spirit on Dec. 20 as its corporate office here made two separate donations.
The first donation was made by Fruth Pharmacy’s employees, who collected items for youngsters at the Children’s Center of Ohio. The employees sponsored approximately 20 young men who live in the group home in Patriot, Ohio. In addition to providing the gifts for the young men, the employees prepared homemade cookies, fruit, and treats to make the Christmas season special for the young men. The gifts were wrapped and tagged for the boys and picked up on Dec. 20.
“I want to thank all of you here at Fruth Pharmacy again,” said Joe Murphy, Activities Coordinator for the Children’s Center of Ohio. “This means so much to the boys.”
The Fruth Pharmacy corporate employees then packed up a van of their own. This year the Fruth employees had more than children in their hearts and went together and purchased paper towels, detergent, treats, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, and 250 pounds of pet food and donated to the Mason County (W.Va.) Animal Shelter.
One lucky employee came home with a special pet. Laci Comer adopted “Charlie” as a special present for her daughter Jerra.
Fruth Pharmacy has been a family-owned pharmacy for over 62 years. Fruth Pharmacy has 30 locations in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
