Hallmark asks public to vote on ten finalists in card competition

12/18/2007

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Hallmark has selected the finalists for its ongoing card competition and is now asking consumers to log on and vote for their favorite design.

The themed card competitions were inspired by Hallmark’s partnership with (PRODUCT) RED. As part of the first competition’s entry process, consumers were encouraged to visit Hallmark.com/you and share their card design. Entries were judged by representatives of Hallmark and (RED). The 10 winning designs will be produced by Hallmark and then sold online beginning Dec. 28. Like all Hallmark (PRODUCT) RED cards, a portion of wholesale sales will go to the Global Fund.

The 10 finalists were announced on Friday and will receive $250, with Hallmark matching that amount in a contribution to the Global Fund.

Now, the company is asking consumers to log onto Hallmark.com/you to vote on their favorite through Jan. 10. The entrant with the most votes will be named the grand prize winner and will receive $2,250, with Hallmark matching that amount in a contribution to the Global Fund. The winning card will also be sold online for a year.

In addition, the company will kick off in January a competition that asks consumers to submit their funniest pet photo with a birthday sentiment. Those interested in more information on the “YourPets” competition can also visit Hallmark.com/you.
