SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – H. D. Smith on Friday announced it is transferring ownership of its CompleteCare Pharmacy in Chatham, Ill. to County Market, also located in Chatham. H. D. Smith is the largest, family-owned wholesale distributor in the nation, and owns CompleteCare Pharmacy.
In March 2015, CompleteCare Pharmacy was notified that its lease agreement with Memorial Health System would be ending. After searching for a new location without success, CompleteCare opted to sell the pharmacy to County Market. County Market operates similarly, as a locally-owned, independent pharmacy, with the same values as CompleteCare Pharmacy.
“We have a great relationship with the Memorial team, but needed to search for other options,” said John Endris, director of pharmacy operations. “We were looking for a partner that would provide our patients a seamless transition and the same level of care.”
CompleteCare Pharmacy customers will begin using County Market as their home pharmacy Feb. 10, 2016. CompleteCare Pharmacy locations in Springfield and Champaign, Illinois are not affected by this transition.
