HealthSpot unveils new software 2.0

5/4/2015

LOS ANGELES — HealthSpot, which has built a healthcare delivery platform that combines cloud-based software with the HealthSpot station, digital medical devices and mobile applications, has unveiled version 2.0 of its software.

HealthSpot's upgraded software facilitates Web-based telehealth visits that feature a remote exam, combining the use of digital medical devices — the same found in a traditional doctor's office — with high-definition video-conferencing, providing a true face-to-face experience. The new software also provides an online scheduling tool for patients to make a HealthSpot appointment.

The HealthSpot station is a private, walk-in kiosk and gives patients increased access to care by connecting with the local medical community and providing interactions with doctors at convenient locations like the corner pharmacy.

The 2.0 software upgrade leverages Xerox's healthcare IT infrastructure to seamlessly interface with insurance claims through a payment data feed and integrates with electronic medical records for continuity of care. The back-end integration with the Xerox infrastructure enables a secure, cloud-based environment that is scalable.

Over the next few months, HealthSpot will be opening its first retail pharmacy location in Ohio, with plans to expand across the country.

"We want to build a national healthcare access network across the country in retail pharmacies in conjunction with leading local health system partnerships. To truly evolve healthcare, we must focus on data integration in our system to deliver a high standard of care," stated Steve Cashman, HealthSpot CEO. "We have made significant updates to the functionality of our software platform and we're excited to highlight the integrated data service offering through our collaborative work with Xerox."
