IRI expands retail leadership team

CHICAGO – IRI announced Thursday that David Hoodis has joined the company as president, Americas Retail.


 


Hoodis will work closely with president of the Americas, Piyush Chaudhari, to drive the growth and expansion of IRI’s services to the retail industry. He will work with retailers to help them tap the opportunities created by big data and advanced analytics to drive ongoing, sustained growth.


 


“David brings a 360-degree view of the retail industry from his experiences at retailers, consultancies and other organizations serving the market,” said Chaudhari. “IRI is committed to arming retailers with the information and insights to meet the many challenges they face today, and David will be instrumental in helping these companies achieved outsized growth.”


 


Most recently, Hoodis served as the VP software, strategy and innovation for NCR Retail, where he worked with clients globally to provide strategic and tactical advisory services. During his tenure working with NCR, Hoodis also founded SMART Retail Solutions Group, a retail consultancy. Prior to working at NCR Retail, he served as CEO and co-founder of Snack Box, a quick-serve restaurant chain located inside Walmart stores, primarily in the southern United States. Before that, Hoodis was an EVP Modell’s Sporting Goods, where he was responsible for operations, stores, omnicommerce, distribution and other key functions. For nearly eight years prior, Hoodis was at Walmart, where he was VP innovations and operations. Earlier in his career, Hoodis served as chief information officer of Prime Retail, a $2 billion retail real estate investment trust, and held positions at Ernst & Young and Kagan-Edelman/Commercial Property Advisors.


 


Hoodis holds a master’s degree in management from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently serves on the board of advisors of Freshub, a pioneer in the Internet of Things connected home space; Systems Alliance, a technology services firm; Natural Insight, a cloud-based workforce management company; and NowLegal, an online resource to help consumers and businesses find qualified attorneys.
