Jean Coutu Group develops Rx refill app

LONGUEUIL, Quebec The Jean Coutu Group on Monday launched the first application in Canada that allows the refilling of prescriptions from a smart phone without going through a mobile website.

"In cooperation with Tactio Software, we have created a state-of-the-art iPhone application that allows our customers to have their prescriptions refilled at any time,” stated Alain Lafortune, SVP purchasing and marketing at JCG. “More and more people use a smart phone, so it had become important to position ourselves at the technological forefront and [by doing] so, remain a leader in our sector.”
