Kroger names new group VP corporate affairs

CINCINNATI — Kroger on Tuesday announced that effective Nov. 1, Jessica C. Adelman would be the grocery chain’s new group VP corporate affairs. Adelman was most recently SVP corporate affairs for agriculture company Syngenta North America and has 20 years the food industry as a public affairs executive. 

“Jessica brings a wealth of public affairs leadership experience and deep knowledge of the food supply chain,” Kroger chairman and CEO Rodney McMullen said. “We look forward to welcoming her to our senior leadership team.”

At Kroger, Adelman will focus on managing the company’s reputation, which includes public relations and external communications. She will also focus on corporate social responsibility, environmental sustainability, community relations, crisis management and government and regulatory affairs. 

Adelman, who has also worked with Cargill Government Solutions, has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
