Lipton launches hot and iced tea K-Cup varieties nationwide

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Lipton Tea is collaborating with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. to launch new varieties of hot and iced tea K-Cup packs for Keurig K-Cup single cup brewing systems.

"It's natural to think of Keurig as being synonymous with coffee, but now consumers are also turning to their Keurig brewers for the freshest tasting hot and iced teas," said Alfie Vivian, VP refreshments, Unilever US. "By partnering with GMCR, we're able to share the delicious taste of Lipton teas in the innovative K-Cup pack format."

Lipton K-Cup packs are available in three flavor combinations:

• Lipton Refresh: A crisp and refreshing iced sweet tea is made of fresh-pressed tea leaves and sweetened with cane sugar, the company stated. This new variety joins GMCR's current Brew Over Ice collection for Keurig K-Cup brewers, a line of beverages that are specifically crafted to brew directly over ice;


• Lipton Indulge: A rich black tea from fresh-pressed tea leaves, blended with natural flavors;


• Lipton Soothe: A smooth green tea made from green tea leaves, herbs, and blended with natural flavors.

"Lipton K-Cup packs are a new and different way to enjoy fresh brewed tea blends, with the ease and convenience of a Keurig K-Cup brewer," added Vivian. "We are so excited to bring Lipton's most aromatic tea creations to the Keurig Brewed line-up."

Lipton K-Cup packs are available in 10-count, 16-count, and 22-count boxes beginning July 2013. They can be found at grocery, mass, and drug retailers nationwide and purchased online. Pricing is at the discretion of each retailer, the company stated.
