PITTSBURGH — Mylan on Monday announced the launch of its generic Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) tablets in 37.5- and 75- mg. The launch makes Mylan the first manufacturer to offer a Lopressor generic in five dosage strengths, which include 25-, 50- and 100-mg strengths in addition to the intermediate strengths.
The drug is indicated to treat hypertension and saw $68.9 million in U.S. sales across all manufacturers for the 12 months ended February 2016, according to IMS Health.
