NEW elects seven new board members

DALLAS — The Network of Executive Women, Consumer Products and Retail, has elected seven new members to its board at the Network's annual members meeting here during the recent NEW Leadership Summit.



More than 1,000 women and men attended the event, the largest in the organization's 11-year history.



Lisa Walsh, VP strategic transformation and customer management for PepsiCo, was elected to the NEW Executive Committee as chair of marketing and communications. Joining the NEW Board as members at-large are Dian Emerson, VP human resources, business services and diversity for Safeway; Vicki Felker, managing director of the market development organization for Nestlé Purina PetCare Co.; Meg Ham, president of Bottom Dollar Food; Eva Kohn, SVP strategic sales for Valassis; Bethany Quam, VP sales, U.S. channels for General Mills; and Monica Turner, general manager of market strategy and planning for Procter & Gamble.



Board members elected to continue their service as officers are NEW board chairwoman Catherine Lindner, former VP retail marketing for Walgreens, who previously served as board vice chairwoman; vice chairwoman Annie Zipfel, division VP customer marketing for REI, who most recently served as chairwoman of marketing and communications; immediate past board chairwoman Michelle Gloeckler, SVP home for Walmart U.S.; and chairwoman of sponsorship Margarita Rossi, senior director of global shopper marketing for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Cos., who previously served as board member at-large. Incumbents secretary Betsy Hosick, general manager of strategic capability for Chevron; treasurer Rosa Stroh, VP treasurer for The Hershey Co.; and chair of membership Debbie Wildrick, president of Growing Innovative Brands, were re-elected to their positions.



Industry leaders elected to continue their service as board members at-large are Erby Foster, Jr., director of diversity and inclusion for The Clorox Co.; Mike Gorshe, partner of retail and consumer goods for Accenture; Julie Hamilton, chief of staff and executive assistant to the chairman of the board and CEO for The Coca-Cola Co.; Regenia Stein, VP industry development and communications for Kraft Foods, who previously served as chairwoman of sponsorship; Karen Stuckey, SVP softlines and general merchandise sourcing for Walmart Stores; and Marla Harger Thompson, VP mobile at Catalina.



The newly elected board members join these incumbent officers and members at-large, whose terms end in 2013: chairwoman, education and research Antoinette "Tonie" Leatherberry, principal for Deloitte Consulting; chairwoman of regional activities Maria Edelson, founder and president of Sales and Capability Development; and members at-large Sarah Chartrand, SVP diversity, talent management and organizational development for Ahold USA; Christy Consler, SVP human resources and corporate sustainability for Jamba Juice; Linda Johnson, VP talent management and diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer for Supervalu; Marnette Perry, senior vice president Kroger; and Sue Sears, vice president, global marketing and sales for Kimberly-Clark Professional at Kimberly-Clark.



Departing members



The outgoing directors are Jeff Boser, SVP global sales for Kellogg; Dave Dudick, SVP and president, U.S. Channels for General Mills; Beverly Grant, president, retail solutions for SymphonyIRI; Cathy Green Burns, president for Lion Food Family; Lisa Klauser, VP consumer and customer solutions for Unilever; and Maria Quintana, CEO of Quintana Group.
