New Sickweather Pro app forecasts flu activity up to 15 weeks in advance

1/21/2016

BALTIMORE, Md. – Sickweather on Wednesday launched Sickweather Pro, an enterprise solution providing detailed intelligence on the spread of illness with flu activity forecasts up to 15 weeks in advance with 91% accuracy.

"Sickweather Pro offers the full might of our new Nightingale engine to healthcare companies and public health organizations who can use it to get the earliest warning available of illness trends in the U.S.,” stated Graham Dodge, CEO of Sickweather. “Not only does this mean that public health organizations will be able to mobilize outbreak response sooner and at a more granular level, but pharmaceutical companies will be able to use it to forecast sales of over-the-counter medication.”

Sickweather Pro is powered by Nightingale: Sickweather’s data science engine for classifying public reports of illness from social media. This engine leverages Sickweather’s patent-pending disease surveillance technology with additional crowdsourced input from Sickweather’s own consumer-facing apps and 3rd party partners like Johnson & Johnson’s HealthyDay app and Swaive’s Smart Ear Thermometer.

Sickweather provides real-time disease surveillance and forecasts for more than 23 different symptoms and illnesses. In 2014, the startup company graduated from the Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator powered by Techstars.
