October sales at Costco up 7% to $8.7 billion

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Costco on Thursday reported net sales of $8.7 billion for the month of October, the four weeks ended Nov. 2, representing an increase of 7% as compared to the similar period last year. Comparable sales for the month were up 6% across the company's U.S. operations.

 

For the nine weeks ended Nov. 2, Costco reported net sales of $19.3 billion, an increase of 7% from $18 billion during the similar period last year. same-store sales were up 6% for the period. 

 

"Within our ancillary businesses, hearing aid, optical and pharmacy had the best comp sales and increases," reported David Sherwood, director, financial planning and investor relations, Costco.
