Opus Health, VoicePort to develop joint pharmacy solution

8/30/2011

BEDMINSTER, N.J., and ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A co-marketing agreement has been inked between Cegedim Relationship Management’s Opus Health division and VoicePort.

The companies said that they will create a joint, pharmacy-focused solution that will be designed to improve prescription compliance and offer patient co-pay assistance. Through this agreement, Opus Health and VoicePort will provide advanced marketing solutions to keep pharmacies in contact with patients by leveraging VoicePort’s PharmaPhonetics — an advanced self-service technology using speech recognition to automate interactions — and Opus Health’s co-pay assistance and medication adherence programs, to extend patient reach by establishing lasting dialogues and offering patients co-pay assistance intended to increase medication adherence.

“Solutions to increase medication adherence are in great need as patient noncompliance drains an estimated $300 billion dollars a year from the U.S. healthcare system,” VoicePort president and CEO Christopher Mann said. “This joint solution will help us collaborate with key retailers throughout the [United States] who focus on improved patient outcomes by leveraging the latest in communication technology.”

Added Mark Calabrese, VP and general manager of Opus Health for Cegedim Relationship Management, "Through our partnership with VoicePort, we aim to improve patient care and make brand medication more affordable by working directly with pharmacies. Pharmacies have direct and regular contact with patients, so they are in a position to promote adherence. Our joint solution builds on our IVR pharmacy network and enables this, and in so doing, benefits the pharmacy, as well by helping them increase customer satisfaction and, therefore, market share."
