P&G offers coupon booklet that saves money and environment
CINCINNATI On Aug. 29, 55 million homes nationwide will receive newspapers that contain savings on a substantial amount of environmentally friendly products, giving consumers the opportunity to spare their cash while sparing the planet.
Procter & Gamble is introducing its September 2010 brandSAVER coupon booklet, which contains $117 in savings on an array of P&G products, including many P&G Future Friendly products that help the environment by saving water, saving energy and reducing waste.
"We are excited about the brandSAVER because, in addition to great money savings, consumers who use the Future Friendly coupons can feel good knowing they're making small but important environmental savings in their homes," said Maurice Coffey, marketing director of P&G Future Friendly. “Equally important is the opportunity for us to share educational tips that families can use to live more sustainably.”
Most of the coupons don’t expire until Sept. 30, and brandSAVER coupons also contain simple and effective conservation ideas that correspond with the products. For example, it includes:
- Cascade Complete ActionPacs — The booklet encourages consumers to use and skip the prewash in order to help save an estimated average of 2,600 gallons of water per year;
- Pampers Cruisers — The booklet states that if every Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers buyer switched to DryMax, approximately 20 million lbs. of trash could be saved;
- Charmin MegaRoll — The booklet adds that Charmin only works with forestry companies that plant or ensure regrowth of more trees than are used from their forests; and
- Bounty Huge Roll — The booklet notes that Bounty has reduced its energy use by more than 15% in its plants in the past three years.
