Pharmacy veteran Effie Steele joins Meijer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. After adding six new stores so far this year, Meijer has appointed a new clinical services coordinator, the Midwestern mass merchandiser said.

In the new role, Effie Steele will oversee the company’s immunization medication therapy management programs and public health initiatives. Steele has worked in the pharmacy industry for more than 30 years, having most recently served various positions at Rite Aid, including staff pharmacist, pharmacy manager and pharmacy development manager.

“We are very pleased to have an industry leader of Effie’s caliber join our pharmacy team at Meijer,” Meijer EVP operations Janet Emerson said in a statement. “Effie has been a key player in the pharmacy space for several years, and her expertise will be extremely valuable as we focus on providing a world-class pharmacy operation to our Meijer customers.”
