PhRMA names 2016 We Work for Health Champion Award winners
WASHINGTON — The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America on Thursday announced the list of people honored this year as We Work for Health Champions. The honorees are made up of 13 employees from 12 biopharmaceutical companies who nominated by their peers and recognized for their commitment to their policy advocacy and community service efforts.
“I am honored to recognize this year's We Work for Health Champions. Each honoree exemplifies a principle our industry stands for and holds dear—helping others,” PhRMA president and CEO Stephen Ub said. “Our 2016 Champions inspire advancements in innovation and drive progress toward delivery of life-saving and life-enhancing medicines to patients.”
This year’s honorees are:
Joseph Latella, Astellas Pharma US’ senior regional specialty sales manager
Dr. Juan Nadal, Bayer’s VP medical communications;
J. Aaron Graham, executive director of brand safety and security at Boehringer Ingelheim;
Adam Taliaferro, associate director of state strategy and policy at Bristol-Myers Squibb;
Michele Schmidt, executive director of global project leadership, Celgene
Pauline Coderre, Eli Lilly and Co. health education consultant;
Christine Schnackenberg, senior scientific investigator at GlaxoSmithKline;
Norris Turner, Jr., therapeutic area director for healthcare quality systems, strategic customer group at Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen Pharmaceutical Cos.;
Marilyn Mainardi, associate director of market access, USP pricing and reimbursement at Merck;
Nancy Bell, medical outcomes specialist at Pfizer;
Jayaram Srirangam, an associate research fellow in worldwide PharmSci at Pfizer;
Diana Lenkowsky, VP facilities and administrative services, Purdue Pharma; and
• Alok Goel, senior manager of HR operations & special projects for Sanofi US.
