IRVINE, Calif. - PrescribeWellness, the cloud-based services company whose mission is to inspire collaboration for better health, announced that their software has been enhanced to accommodate the recent modifications to the Federal Communication Commission regulations for improved transmission of information.
“Previously, there has been confusion within the pharmacy setting regarding health care treatment communication versus unsolicited communication,” stated Tony Thuyen, chief strategy officer PrescribeWellness. “Now that the FCC has clarified the distinction between the two, pharmacies that use our solution will be better equipped to connect with their patients to improve medication adherence and their patients’ overall health.”
As a part of their new enhancements, PrescribeWellness is now offering their customers the use of text reminders to patients with prescriptions ready for pick-up and patients with pre-set appointments. In addition to sending recurring text reminders, PrescribeWellness pharmacies can now send their patients informational voice or text messages related to their patients’ health.
PrescribeWellness has and will continue to follow the regulations set by the FCC, the company stated. The FCC’s Declaratory Ruling and Order on the Telephone Consumer Protection Act clarifies how health care entities may communicate with consumers using autodialed and prerecorded calls. The order grants a limited exemption for specific categories of calls and texts made for healthcare treatment purposes.
