Progresso introduces Recipe Starters cooking sauces

MINNEAPOLIS — Progresso has developed a new line of versatile cooking sauces that can be used to create delicious home-cooked classics.

Recipe Starters, available in five flavorful varieties — creamy parmesan basil, creamy roasted garlic with chicken stock, fire roasted tomato, creamy portabello mushroom and creamy three cheese — aim to provide families with a versatile solution to the weeknight dinner dilemma.

"Great sauces are the foundation for delicious meals, but today's families don't always have the time to create these sauces from scratch, especially on weeknights," said Allen Gerten, Progresso marketing manager for new products. "To help families overcome this hurdle, we created Progresso Recipe Starters in our kitchens, so they can save time in theirs. The new line of cooking sauces will give moms and dads a head start to making their own home-cooked dinner creations."

Recipe Starters are available in the soup aisle for a suggested retail price of $2.49 for an 18-oz. can.
