Publix relocates DC to Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. Publix is relocating plans for an eighth distribution center from Charlotte County, Fla., just north of Fort Myers on Florida’s West Coast, to Orlando, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported Saturday. According to the report, Publix cited greater fuel economy afforded by a more centralized location in making the move.
Initially, Publix had first planned on constructing a 600,000-square-foot distribution center near the Charlotte County Airport four years ago.
