Publix, Walgreens to participate in Operation Pill Drop
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Publix and Walgreens have partnered with a local coalition to collect expired medications, according to a report in the Delray Beach newspaper the Pineapple published Monday.
Beginning in April, every pharmacy in Publix and Walgreens stores in Palm Beach County will display signs with the location of the nearest pill drop-box as part of Operation Pill Drop.
“Having these signs in every Publix and Walgreens pharmacy, and hopefully others in the future, is a huge step forward in making the public aware of the availability of the drop- boxes,” Jeff Kadel, executive director of the Palm Beach County Substance Awareness Coalition, told the Pineapple.
