Report: Former Rite Aid CEO to be released from prison in January
MIAMI Former Rite Aid CEO and chairman Martin Grass is scheduled to be released from a community corrections center in Miami on Jan. 18, according to a report filed Wednesday by the Patriot-News, Rite Aid’s hometown daily newspaper.
Grass is one of six former senior executives charged with overstating Rite Aid earnings in the period before the company’s current management team assumed control of the company in 1999 and embarked on successfully turning the company around.
Grass pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to obstruct justice in June 2003 and agreed to cooperate with the government in the ensuing investigation, the Patriot-News reported.
