Report: Kwik Shops to expand offerings
WICHITA, Kan. Kwik Shops is kicking off 2010 by expanding some of its convenience store locations to feature deli space, fresh foods and a pharmacy, according to published reports.
"We think the two services kind of go together," Kwik Shops president Jeff Parker told The Wichita Eagle. "We try to be convenient for the customer and what they need, whether that be a rotisserie chicken or a prescription."
Two expanded stores reportedly are opening sometime in May. Kwik Shops currently boast a retail footprint of about 2,500 sq. ft.
In August, the Kroger-owned convenience chain said that it was eyeing the possible addition of pharmacies in some locations. At that time, the chain operated 126 combination convenience stores and gas stations in Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.
