Report: Publix to close five Florida outlets
LAKELAND, Fla. A popular grocer is closing five locations in Florida.
According to reports, Publix announced that it will be closing five Florida outlets. Last year, the retailer purchased 17 Albertsons stores in the area and were set to convert them into Publix stores, stating that some existing Publix locations could close.
"We'll close them because the stores had grown too old and tired," Publix spokeswoman Shannon Patton was quoted as saying.
