Report: Ukrop's to change banners next month

RICHMOND, Va. The metamorphosis of 25 supermarkets from Ukrop’s to Martin’s Food Markets will probably begin in April, according to published reports.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch of Richmond, Va., reported Wednesday that Martin’s will stagger the conversions, closing four stores at a time for a week until all 25 –– 24 in Richmond and one in nearby Williamsburg –– are finished.

Changes will include staying open on Sundays, selling alcohol, offering Wi-Fi in store cafes and prohibiting charity groups from collecting money or selling merchandise in front of the stores.
