Report: Walgreens' flagship location in Boston seeking final licensures for April opening

3/28/2013

BOSTON — The Boston Licensing Board will decide whether Walgreens' flagship store at School and Washington streets, expected to open its doors in April, can sell fresh merchandise like sushi, smoothies and coffee around the clock, according to a report published Wednesday by Universal HUB

The licensing board also will consider allowing a 42-seat patio overlooking the Irish Famine Memorial. The patio, however, would not be 24-hours and would instead close at 11 p.m.

According to the report, the food-serving license is the last major city approval the new Walgreens needs before it opens.
