Supplier News: Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will roll out the animated hit The Simpsons Movie Dec. 3. The DVD will be priced at $29.98 and will feature deleted scenes and special features. The film will also be released on Blu-Ray high definition DVD the same day.

Also arriving in December is the Harry Potter Limited Edition DVD Gift Set featuring the first four Harry Potter films and the DVD debut of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The 12-disc set will arrive in stores Dec. 11 for a suggested retail price of $119.97.

Gift card purchases are expected to hit a record high of $35 billion during the 2007 holiday season as more retailers make them readily available to customers.

A study from Archstone Consulting forecasts a 25 percent increase over the $27.8 billion consumers spent on gift cards during the holidays in 2006.
